Hungary’s Minister of Agriculture backs Provident’s gardening initiative

Hungary’s Minister of Agriculture, Dr. István Nagy, officially opened a Provident Hungary conference celebrating the success of the Small Gardening programme - one of International Personal Finance’s key community initiatives.

Developed in partnership with Hungarian Interchurch Aid, the Small Gardening programme helps disadvantaged families grow their own food by providing seeds and seedlings, promoting self-sufficiency and sustainable living in rural communities. It forms part of IPF’s global community programme, Invisibles, which supports underserved groups and helps make their needs visible to policymakers and other stakeholders.

Prior to the event, Minister Nagy met with Provident Hungary’s Country Manager, Viktor Boczan, to discuss opportunities for long-term collaboration and the importance of strengthening rural communities.

The conference brought together local leaders, government representatives and experts, who shared experiences and discussed the future direction of the initiative. The event drew strong media interest, including coverage from local TV and radio.

Through initiatives like Small Gardening, IPF continues to make a lasting impact in the communities where our colleagues and customers live and work.
