Empowering seniors against cyber threats

As part of our global community investment programme Invisibles, IPF’s home credit and digital teams came together and partnered long-standing NGO collaborator, Život 90, to support Global Money Week 2025 with a meaningful initiative aimed at one of society’s most vulnerable groups - seniors.

Together, we organised a cybersecurity workshop designed to raise awareness of online fraud and equip seniors with the knowledge and tools to stay safe in the digital space. The event offered practical guidance on recognising scams, understanding common fraud tactics and building digital confidence.

Both of our brands – Creditea and Provident - played a key role in making the event a success:

  • Creditea shared insights from its original survey Baby Boomers Online: Digital confidence and cyber threats, which revealed that nearly half of senior respondents had encountered attempted financial fraud.
  • Provident led the expert component of the workshop, with colleagues from the Loss Prevention and IT Security teams delivering an in-depth session on detecting fraud, identifying warning signs and using effective protection strategies.

Those attending the workshop also benefited from the participation of the Czech Police, who contributed real-life case insights and endorsed the event..

Encouraged by the positive feedback from participants and media interest, IPF’s Czech colleagues are planning similar initiatives throughout the year, including activities during International Fraud Awareness Week 2025.
