Our business proposition

International Personal Finance is a business with excellent prospects and a strong investment case that is built around four key areas; each underpinned by cornerstones of success.

Our success is down to our experience and ability to operate successfully in emerging markets. We have a proven, successful international business model and a wealth of home credit experience.

Since our international home credit business began in 1997 we have grown substantially and now operate in six countries, have over 1.9 million customers and in 2007 achieved a pre-tax profit of £40 million from established markets. Having identified significant opportunities and developed a clear strategy for growth we are now well positioned to build on this rapid, organic growth by growing our customer base and profit in existing markets, and expanding more rapidly into new, larger, underserved territories.

Our international team has a wealth of home credit experience. Understanding emerging markets and the non-prime customer requires experience, training and skill - something which cannot be bought off the shelf or learnt from a text book. This strong team can take the home credit service to further emerging markets and repeat the success.

With strong financial foundations and policies that support a high growth strategy we are able to maximise profit from established Central European markets by improving efficiencies and by developing, piloting and introducing new, straightforward financial products and services to retain current customers and attract new customers. In addition we intend to realise the profit potential of Mexico and Romania by bringing each market to profitability before optimising to reach its potential.
