Poland

Here are just a few examples of recent activities from our Polish division

Provident - the company of equal opportunities

The "One Level Up" initiative is a student and graduate internship program based at our head office in Poland and the main idea behind it is promoting equal opportunities for all irrespective of age, gender, religion and political views etc. We have 10 internships planned for 2007 where students will have the opportunity to work in finance, human resources, marketing, PR and IT.  Going forward, there are plans to extend this out to our branch network.

Yes! I can help!

We run a corporate volunteering programme for employees and agents in partnership with the Volunteer Centre Association. Employees and agents can apply for funds for their own volunteering initiatives, typically helping orphanages or schools in rural communities. The aim of the programme is to capitalise on the enthusiasm of our teams to help groups in need and ensure that assistance and support is provided in a systematic way.  In 2006 we provided funding for 24 projects.

Stay safe in the city

As most agents in Poland are women, we sponsored a regional initiative on personal safety for women in the country's second largest city, Lodz.  With support from a self-defence coach and psychologist, sixteen courses were delivered enabling more than 400 women from Lódz to receive 16 hours of training on a wide range of personal safety issues.

Financial Literacy

We've supported money management camapigns, 'It's Your Money' and 'Our Finances' in partnership with regional papers. Other efforts to promote awareness include a fact sheet for consumers providing major contractual provisions in simple terms.

Helping others

We are working on an initiative to help people with disabilities gain employment and a program focussing on supporting the elderly.
